Students Against Child Marriage Stands With Black Lives Matter
Students Against Child Marriage is the first student organization nationwide devoted to ending underage marriage in America. We recognize that domestic violence and child abuse do not exist within a vacuum but instead constantly intersect with pressing social and economic issues resulting from race, class, religion, gender identity, and poverty.
As an organization, we are focused on protecting the countless young girls whose futures are ripped away from them by child marriage. But, as a student collective comprising individuals of different and diverse backgrounds, we strive to create an inclusive platform for change that acknowledges the broad intersectionalities of child marriage to complement other important and related movements.
Students Against Child Marriage stands with the organizers of Black Lives Matter. Since our formation, we have been committed to sharing essential educational resources and actionable items to end racism, police brutality, and systemic inequity.
